RaySolar Signs Strategic Agreement with Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences to Promote Integrated Development of New Energy, New Mate
On July 2, Qingdao RaySolar New Energy Co., Ltd. signed agreement with the Academician Workstation of Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Qingdao. The two sides take the cooperation in new energy, new material and anti-corrosion technology as an opportunity, to build a long-term, stable and good strategic partnership, realize the development concept of “resource sharing, mutual benefit, common development”, and propel the integrated development of anti-corrosion technology. Niu Haiyan, general manager of RaySolar, and Hou Baorong, academician in Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, had an in-depth discussion on the long-term cooperation between the two sides.

According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out cooperation in many fields including new energy equipment, anti-corrosion of new material and so on, bring their advantages in technology, capital, resource and human resource into full play, utilize the talents and technologies accumulated in different professional fields, and work together to push forward the industrialization of new energy, new material, and anti-corrosion technology.
Qingdao RaySolar New Energy Co., Ltd., with two major product systems of “new energy, new material”, is a comprehensive enterprise that integrates R&D, design, production, sales and service. Since the start of the strategic transformation toward diversified development in 2018, RaySolar constantly promotes the integrated development of new energy, new material and anti-corrosion technology, and actively propels the R&D and innovation of the two product systems of “new energy, new material”. At present, the RaySolar’s diversified development system gradually becomes mature, and the enterprise has entered a fast development lane.
The Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences started research on protection against marine corrosion since the 1950s, and is one of the earliest Chinese units to carry out research on protection against marine corrosion and biofouling. After 50 years of development, National Engineering Research Center of Marine Corrosion and Protection has become one of the units with the strongest comprehensive strength in the domestic marine environment corrosion field.
Hou Baorong is an expert in marine corrosion and protection, an academician in Chinese Academy of Engineering, a researcher in the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, a doctoral supervisor, and the director of the National Engineering Research Center of Marine Corrosion and Protection. He is devoted to conducting researches on marine corrosion and protection as well as achievement transformation, undertakes over 60 national, provincial and enterprise-entrusted scientific research projects; he has been granted 8 prizes by the nation, Shandong Province, Chinese Academy of Sciences, State Oceanic Administration and Qingdao city, and acquired more than 40 national patents.
Niu Haiyan, general manager of RaySolar said, “We are so happy to carry out strategic cooperation with Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. As the replacement of old growth drivers with new ones is being promoted in China and Shandong Province, RaySolar’s PV new energy and the new anti-corrosion material developed by Academician Hou and his team conform to the development trend of replacement of old growth drivers with new ones. In the new competitive environment, the two sides will strengthen anti-corrosion R&D of PV projects, jointly bring R&D achievements to the PV market through multiple channels, and build a strategic partnership to achieve win-win and sustainable development.”
